Picking Sequences/Quality Control Measures
Orders process through a two-level quality control process. Orders are first grabbed by a picker who utilizes scanning technology to verify the product is pulled from the appropriate skid in the warehouse, then confirming quantity. Once picked, the order moves to a packing station where each product is individually scanned, verifying the correct product and quantity is pulled and packaged.
FIFO/LIFO/Expiration
Inventory movement can be managed in three ways:
- FIFO – First in first out – product will be pulled from the warehouse in the order it is received in at the warehouse.
- LIFO – Last in first out – product will be pulled based on the last product to be received into the warehouse.
- Expiration date – product will be pulled based on the product closest to expiration date, regardless of the order it is received into the warehouse.
